질적 사례연구를 통한 대학원 계약학과 학습자의 활동체제 분석

Activity System Analysis of Learners Enrolled in a Contract-based Graduate Course: A Qualitative Case Study

본 연구는 한 공공기관에서 대학과 협력하여 대학원 과정으로 개설한 계약학과에 참여하고 있는 학 습자들의 학습경험과 인식을 활동체제분석을 통해 탐색하고, 이러한 경험에서 나타나는 모순의 양상 을 파악하고자 질적사례연구로 실시되었다. 대학원 계약학과 과정에 참여하고 있는 12명의 학습자를 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하고, 관련된 문서자료를 수집하여 활동체제분석을 실시하였다. 연구결 과 대학원 계약학과 학습자들은 개인적인 정체성과 조직의 구성원이라는 정체성을 동시에 인식하고 있었으며, 이중적인 정체성은 이들이 계약학과라는 맥락에서 추구하는 목적에 대한 인식에도 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 현업과 학업을 병행하는 계약학과의 특성에 맞는 개인적, 집단적 학습전략 과 온라인 도구의 활용이 이들의 학습과정을 매개하였다. 계약학과 학습자들로 구성된 공동체에서는 교육과정을 비롯한 계약학과 운영의 개선방안과 학습과정에 적용되는 암묵적인 규칙들이 공유되는 양상을 드러냈다. 필요에 따른 학습과제의 분담은 수평적인 분배를 원칙으로 하지만 때로는 조직의 위계나 연령이 고려되기도 하였다. 계약학과 학습자의 활동체제와 계약학과를 운영하는 조직차원의 활동체제에 대한 위계적 분석은 기관차원의 인사제도 개선이나 계약학과에 대한 관점의 전환을 요 구하는 모순양상을 드러냈다. 이러한 연구결과는 학습을 포함한 인간활동의 맥락성과 복잡성, 역사 성 탐색에 활동체제분석이 활용될 수 있음을 보여주는 것이며, 계약학과가 추구하는 본연의 목적 달 성을 위한 정책적, 실천적 논의에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze activity system and to elicit contradiction of learners who participated in the contract-based graduate course established through cooperation with a university and a public institution in order to explore the learning experiences and perceptions of learners. After conducting an in-depth interview with 12 research participants and analyzing related documents, we found that the learners possessed both personal and organizational identity. Dual identity of subject also appeared to influence their perception of the purpose pursued in the context of contract-based graduate course. The learners used personal, collective learning strategies and online tools that correspond to the characteristics of contract-based graduate course as well as mediated their learning process. In the community of learners, they shared collective perception and tacit rules related to their learning experiences such as curriculum revision. The division of labor for learning tasks was based on horizontal distribution principle, however, sometimes the hierarchy of rank in the institution or age of learners was taken into account. The hierarchical analysis between micro level activity system and meso level activity system revealed a number of contradiction that requires the improvement of the institutional personnel system or a change of perspective on the contract-based graduate course. These findings show that activity system analysis can be used to explore the context, complexity, and history of human activities, including learning, and can be used for policy development and practical implementation to achieve the purpose of the contract-based university courses.
