뇌교육 기반 인성프로그램이 초등학생의 자아존중감과 친구관계 향상에 미치는 효과

The Effect of Brain Education-Based Personality Program on Elementary School Students Self-esteem and Friendship

본 연구의 목적은 뇌과학, 심리학, 교육학 및 철학의 융합 학문적 성격을 갖는 뇌교육 기반 인성 프로그램이 초등학생의 자아존중감과 친구관계 향상에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 한 개인의 자아존중감은 개인의 영역을 넘어서 타인에 대한 존중과 공감으로 확산된다. 연구대상은 초등학교 4학년 378명으로 하였고, 연구설계는 사전-사후검사 통제집단 설계를 적용하여 주 1회(40분) 12주간 프로그램을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 뇌교육 기반 인성프로그램이 자아존중감과 친구관계에 미치는 영향을 검정하기 위해 공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 뇌교육 기반 인성프로그램은 초등학생의 자아존중감과 친구관계기술을 유의미하게 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 뇌교육 기반 인성프로그램이 초등학생의 자아존중감과 친구관계에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것이라 할 수 있으며, 기존 인성교육 프로그램들이 갖는 한계인 지식전달 위주의 접근법을 벗어나, 최근 여러 문제를 안고 있는 학교현장에 적용하여 초등학생의 정신건강을 향상시킬 수 있는 새로운 방안으로의 가능성을 보여준다고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the brain education- based personality program, which is a converging academic character of brain science, psychology, pedagogy and philosophy, on the self-esteem and friendship of elementary school students. The self-esteem of an individual spreads beyond the domain of the individual with respect and empathy for others. The subjects of the study were 378 4th grade students, and the study design was conducted once a week (40 minutes) for 12 weeks using a pre-post-test control group design. Data analysis was conducted using covariate analysis (ANCOVA) to test the effects of brain education-based personality programs on self-esteem and friendship. As a result, the brain education-based personality program significantly improved elementary school student’s self-esteem and friendship skills. These results suggest that the brain education-based personality program has a positive effect on the self-esteem and friendship of elementary school students, and it is a school that has recently faced various problems beyond the knowledge-oriented approach, which is the limitation of existing character education programs. It can be said that it shows the possibility as a new way to improve the mental health of elementary school students by applying to the field.
