고등학교 학생들의 스마트폰 중독정도와 사용현황

Smartphone Addiction and Uses of High School Students

본 연구는 현 고등학교 학생들의 스마트폰 중독정도와 사용현황을 분석한다. 충청남도 천안시 소재의 한 일반계 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 스마트폰 사용 중독정도와 사용현황을 묻는 설문지를 실시하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 설문 대상자 중 스마트폰 중독의 잠재적 위험자나 고위험자에 속하는 비율이 2/3 이상으로서 상당히 높은 수준인 것으로 나타났고, 스마트폰 중독정도는 학업성취도와 유의미한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 과반의 학생이 초등학교시기에 스마트폰 사용을 시작한 것으로 나타났으며 대부분 동영상 시청, 문자 및 음성통화, 게임, 음악 감상 등 여가를 목적으로 사용 중이었다. 셋째, 약 절반 정도의 설문 대상 학생들은 학습을 목적으로 스마트폰을 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며, 스마트폰의 학습목적 사용 여부와 학업성취도는 상관관계가 보이지 않았다. 설문 대상 학생들은 정보 검색이나 온라인 강의 시청 등의 비교적 단순한 용도로 활용한다고 응답하였다. 연구의 결과에서 보여주듯이 고등학교 학생들이 스마트폰을 사용하는 시기가 빨라지고 양은 점점 늘어나고 있다. 이는 과거 PC와 휴대폰의 기능을 결합한 스마트폰이 대중화되고 있음을 나타내는 것으로서 청소년들의 삶에서 스마트폰은 없어서는 안 될 필수 요소가 되었다. 본 연구는 스마트폰 사용에 대한 현 상황을 객관적으로 이해하고 앞으로 학교 현장에서 스마트폰의 교육적 활용 연구에 대한 중요성과 필요성을 강조하고자 한다.

In this paper, it analyzes smartphone addiction and uses of high school students. A survey was conducted to high school students in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, on their smartphone addiction and uses. The results are as follows. First, more than two-thirds subjects are latent- or high-risk groups of smartphone addiction, and smartphone addiction has a correlation with academic achievement. Second, more than half the students started smartphone in elementary school and are using smartphone for leisures such as watching videos, sending messages, playing games, or listening to music. Third, about a half of the students are using smartphone for learning such as searching for web-surfing or online lecture, and its use for learning has no correlation with academic achievement. They are usually simple aims of studying. As shown in the results, high school students are using smartphone faster and more nowadays. This results from the spread of smartphone, which has substituted the roles of computers and cell phones. Smartphone has become an indispensable part of their lives. The results of the paper show an objective analysis of smartphone use of high school students and put an emphasis on its educational uses at school.
