발달장애인의 근로생활 유지 경험

A Study on the Experience of Job Retention for the Worker with developmental disabilites

장애인들은 근로를 통해서 사회적 자원과 연계되어 지역사회인적자원이 될 수 있다. 발달장애인 역시 직업을 통해서 근로소득뿐만 아니라 생산적 인간이라는 삶의 의미를 갖는다. 그러나 발달장애인은 비장애인에 비해서 직장생활에서 중도 탈락률도 높다. 본 연구는 발달장애인의 직업 생활의 어려움은 무엇이고 어떻게 극복하는지에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발달장애인은 직업생활에서 힘들어하는 것이 무엇인가? 둘째, 발달장애인은 직업생활에서 힘든 것을 어떻게 극복하는가? 본 연구는 발달장애인의 내면적 의사를 심층적으로 파악하고자 질적사례연구방법을 통해서 연구문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발달장애인은 직업생활하면서 ‘장애특성과 인간관계 갈등’으로 힘들어 하는 것을 알게 되었다. 둘째, 발달장애인은 힘든 환경 속에서 직업생활을 계속하는 이유는 ‘가족의 기대’임을 알게 되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 발달장애인의 취업생활의 향상에 기여할 수 있는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore working experiences employees with the developmental disabilities and real life in their working place as well as implications and intervention methods for employees in the developmental disabilities. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, this researcher drew the results through qualitative case study, interviewing the participants. The major findings of the study were as follows: Subcategories of ‘intolerable burdens’ were ones from ‘weak working environment’ and ‘endless relationship’. In details, ‘burdens from weak working environment’ meant ‘difficulties from commuting alone’, ‘concentration’ as subcategories. Subcategories of ‘keeping the stem up as suffering patiently’ were ‘having his/her hope and family’. ‘Keeping the stem up as having his or her family’ included ‘parents great expectation on his or her working well’ and ‘supporting his or her family’. The research can contribute improving the quality of employment for the worker with developmental disabilites
