본 연구는 초기 부적응 도식과 긍정정서, 부정정서와의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 수도권에 거주하는 성인 남녀 388명을 대상으로 초기 부적응 도식, 기본심리욕구, 긍정정서 및 부정정서를 측정하여 매개모형을 분석하였고, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변인들간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 초기 부적응 도식은 기본심리욕구, 긍정정서와 유의한 부적상관을 보였으며, 부정정서와 유의한 정적상관을 나타냈다. 기본심리욕구는 긍정정서와 정적상관을 보였으며, 부정정서와 부적상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 구조방정식 분석을 통해 초기 부적응 도식이 기본심리욕구를 매개로 긍정정서와 부정정서에 미치는 연구모형을 검증하였다. 그 결과 연구모형에 대한 모형적합도가 유의하게 나타났다. 초기 부적응 도식과 긍정정서는 기본심리욕구를 통해 완전매개효과가 나타났고, 초기 부적응 도식과 부정정서와는 기본심리욕구를 통해 부분매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 초기부적응 도식과 긍정정서, 부정정서와의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과 모형에 대한 간접효과를 분석한 결과 초기 부적응 도식이 기본심리욕구를 거쳐 긍정정서로 이행되는 간접효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 초기 부적응 도식이 기본심리욕구를 통해 부정정서에 미치는 간접효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 통해 생애초기에 형성된 부적응 도식이 현재의 기본심리욕구 충족을 저해함으로써 나타나는 정서 경험에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에 대한 시사점 및 연구의 제한점을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine mediation effects of basic psychological needs on the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and both positive and negative emotions. Early maladaptive schemas, basic psychological needs, and both positive and negative emotions were measured in 388 adult males and females living in the metropolitan area. Results showed that, first, basic psychological needs showed positive correlations with positive emotions and negative correlations with negative emotions. Second, Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis indicated that early maladaptive schemas and positive emotions showed a complete mediation effect through basic psychological needs, and early maladaptive schemas and negative emotion showed a partial mediation effect through basic psychological needs. Third, the indirect effect of basic psychological needs was found to be significant in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and positive emotion. Finally, implications of this study and the limitations of the study are discussed.
