대학생의 내현적자기애와 분노표현 양식의 관계: 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대 차이의 매개효과

The Relationship between Covert Narcissism and Anger Expression among University Students: The Mediating Effects of the Gap of Self-Presentational Motivation and Self-Presentational Expectancy

본 연구는 대학생의 내현적자기애가 분노표현 양식에 미치는 심리적 영향을 살펴보기 위해 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이가 매개효과를 갖는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 4년제 대학교 487명을 대상으로 내현적자기애, 자기제시동기, 자기제시기대, 분노표현 양식을 측정하는 설문을 실시하고 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내현적자기애 성향은 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이와 정적상관을 나타냈다. 그리고 내현적자기애는 분노표현 양식의 하위요인 중 분노억제 및 분노표출과 정적상관을, 분노조절과는 부적상관을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이는 분노표현 양식의 모든 하위요인과 정적상관을 나타내었다. 둘째, 내현적자기애가 분노억제에 미치는 영향에서 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이가 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 내현적자기애가 분노억제에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라, 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이를 통하여 간접적으로 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다. 그러나, 자기제시동기와 자기제시기대의 차이는 내현적자기애와 분노표출, 내현적자기애와 분노조절 간 관계에서 매개효과를 나타내지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 상담과 후속연구를 위해 시사점과 제한점을 논의하였다.

This study aimed to explore the effect of covert narcissism on anger expression and the mediating effects of self-presentational motivation and self-presentational expectancies. After being administered to 487 university students, final analysis utilized the following questionnaires: covert narcissism scale, self-presentational motivation scale, self-presentational expectancies scale, and anger expression scale. Findings are as follows. First, covert narcissism had positive correlation with the gap of self-presentational motivation and self-presentational expectancies. Covert narcissism positively correlated with anger-in and anger-out, the sub-factors of anger expression, while the gap of Self-presentational motivation and self-presentational expectancies had positive correlations with all sub-factors of anger expression. Secondly, the gap of self-presentational motivation and self-presentational expectancies partially mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and anger-in. However, the gap of self-presentational motivation and self-presentational expectancies did not indicate a mediation effect on the relationship between both anger-out or anger-control and covert narcissism. Based on these findings, implications and limitations are presented for both counseling and future studies.
