본 연구는 고등학생의 애착(애착회피, 애착불안), 정서표현, 그리고 학교적응의 관계를 살펴보고, 애착과 학교적응의 관계에서 정서표현의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 남녀고등학생 421명을 대상으로, 성인애착척도, 정서표현척도, 학교적응척도를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 통한 자료분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 애착회피와 애착불안은 학교적응과 부적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 정서표현과 학교적응은 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 애착회피는 정서표현과 부적 상관관계를 보였으며, 애착불안은 정서표현과 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 애착회피와 애착불안 모두 학교적응의 관계에서 정서표현은 직·간접 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 살펴보면 애착회피는 학교적응에 직접적 영향을 미치며, 동시에 정서표현을 매개변인으로 간접적으로 학교 적응에 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 반면 애착불안은 학교적응에 직접적 영향을 미치며, 정서표현을 억제변인으로 학교적응에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이를 통해 애착(애착회피, 애착불안)과 학교적응의 관계에서 정서표현의 영향력의 차이와 주요역할을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 시사점, 연구의 한계를 제시하였고, 후속연구를 제언하였다.
This study aims to verify the mediating effect of emotion expression in the relationship between adult attachment (attachment-related avoidance and anxiety) and school adaptation. The Experiences In Close Relationships-Revised survey, and the Emotional Expressiveness and School Adjustment Questionnaires were administered to 421 high school students. Results revealed the following significant links: First, attachment-related avoidance and anxiety had a negative correlation with school adjustment, and emotion expression had a positive correlation with school adjustment. A negative correlation was revealed in the relationship between attachment-related avoidance and emotion expression, and a positive correlation on the relationship between attachment-related anxiety and emotion expression. Second, emotion expression had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between attachment-related avoidance and school adaptation, and a suppressing effect in the relationship between attachment-related anxiety and school adaptation. Emotion expression is significant factor to the understanding of relationship between adult attachment and school adaptation.
