A Preliminary Study for the Development of an IT-based Collaborative Problem-Solving Learning Model

본 연구는 교육 환경의 변화에 부합하는 교수학습 실천 방안을 모색하기 위한 일환으로, IT 기반 협력적 문제해결학습 모형 개발에 앞서 고려해야 할 핵심 질문 두 가지를 상정하였다. 즉 IT 기반 협력적 문제해결학습 모형 설계를 위한 핵심 구성 요소는 무엇인가, 그리고 IT 기반 협력적 문제해결학습을 위한 모형은 어떻게 이론적으로 구체화될 수 있는가가 그것이다. 이에 대한 답을 구하기 위하여 본고는 모형 설계의 핵심 구성 요소로서 ‘IT 기반 교수·학습 환경 구축’, ‘교수·학습 목표로서 정보 리터러시’, ‘집단 지성 발현체로서 학습조직’, ‘교수ㆍ학습 경험에 대한 공유와 성찰’을 설정하였다. 그리고 이들 요소를 바탕으로 가설적 모형을 구체화하고 그 특징으로 ‘팀 학습’, ‘정신적 모델’, ‘개인적 숙련’, ‘시스템 사고하기’ 등을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 본고는 정보기술에 기반한 교수학습 모형의 개발과 실천은 학습 참여자와 교수·학습 환경 그리고 문제해결 상황 및 과제가 유기적으로 맞물려 하나의 체계를 이룰 수 있는 것이어야 함을 확인하였다. 또한 교수·학습 측면에서, 정보기술에 기반한 교수·학습 설계 시 최신 정보기술의 새로움과 신선함에 주목하여 교육 상황에 성급히 적용하려는 시도를 경계하고, 교육적 효용성과 필요성에 따른 정보기술의 선별적 적용을 기본 방향으로 설정해야 함을 강조하였다.

The purpose of this study is to perform a preliminary study for developing an IT-based collaborative problem-solving learning model. The study aims to find a teaching-learning practice plan that conforms to the change of educational environment. We had two key questions to consider for the model development: 1) what are the core components of an IT-based collaborative problem-solving learning model? and 2) how can the model be theoretically constructed? Four core components of the model design were identified: an IT-based teaching-learning environment, information literacy as a teaching-learning goal, learning organization as a manifestation of collective intelligence, and sharing and reflection on teaching-learning. The detailed model was developed based on these factors, and some characteristics of the model such as team learning, mental model, personal skill, and system thinking were suggested. Through this study, it was confirmed that the development and practice of the teaching-learning model based on IT should be a system that can organically organize the learning participants, the teaching-learning environment, and the problem solving situation and tasks. We suggest that when designing a teaching-learning model based on IT, care should be taken in applying the freshness and novelty of the latest information technology to the educational situation. In addition, IT should be selectively applied in consideration of educational utility and necessity.
