본 연구의 목적은 지체장애학생 어머니의 초월 성격 강점, 삶의 목적 및 심리적 안녕감이 어떠한 관계가 있는지에 대해 탐색하는 것이었다. 이를 위해, 지체장애학생 어머니 71명을 대상으로 수집한 자료를 SPSS Win 18.0을 이용하여 상관분석, t검증, 일원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 지체장애학생 어머니의 초월 성격 강점은 삶의 목적과 유의한 상관이 있으며, 초월 성격 강점 상집단이 하집단보다 삶의 목적 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 삶의 목적은 심리적 안녕감과 유의한 정적 상관이 있으며, 삶의 목적 수준 상집단이 하집단보다 심리적 안녕감이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과에 대해 논의하고, 후속연구를 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among transcendence of character strengths, the purpose in life, and psychological well-being of the mothers of students with the physical disability. For the purpose of this study, data collected with 71 mothers of students with the physical disability were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation analysis, t-tests, and one-way analysis of variance. The main results of this study are as follows: First, significant relationships were found between the transcendence of character strengths and the purpose in life of the mothers. The higher group in transcendence of character strengths was found to score significantly higher purpose in life than the lower group. Second, significant relationships were found between the purpose in life and psychological well-being of the mothers. The higher group in the purpose in life was found to score significantly higher psychological well-being than the lower group. The results of this study were discussed and further studies were suggested.
