본 연구는 유아 특수교사가 인식하는 장애유아 가족지원의 운영 실태와 문제점, 그리고 프로그램의 필요성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 일반유치원, 유아 특수학교, 특수학교 유치부에 근무하는 유아특수교사 102명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 가족지원 프로그램 중 부모상담이 가장 많이 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 교사와 교육기관장의 가족지원 프로그램에 대한 지식과 이해가 부족하다는 문제점이 가장 높게 제시되었다. 그리고 유아 특수교사들이 필요하다고 생각하는 가족지원 프로그램의 내용으로는 가족이 함께할 수 있는 레크리에이션의 기회가 제공되어야하고, 비장애 형제와 장애형제를 위한 프로그램의 필요성이 제시되었다. 이러한 결과에 토대하여 장애유아 가족지원 프로그램의 활성화를 위한 교사 역할이 논의되었다.
This study investigated the perception of early childhood special education teachers on current status, issues, and needs of the family support programs. A survey was conducted with 102 early childhood special education teachers. The results indicated that the most common among the family support programs was the parent consultation. The report also indicated that the lack of understanding of family support programs in regular teachers and school directors is a challenging problem. Special education teachers also reported the needs of recreation and activity programs for family and siblings. The role of teachers and suggestion to implement family support programs were further discussed.
