청소년의 동성애 경험, 성의식, 동성애 혐오, 우울의 관계

The Relationships among Homosexual Experiences, Sexual Attitude, Sexual Homophobic, and Depression in Adolescents

본 연구는 청소년기 중·고등학생을 대상으로 성별 및 동성애 경험 유무에 따라 성의식, 동성애 혐오, 우울의 차이를 알아보았다. 또한 성의식, 동성애 혐오, 우울간의 관계를 살펴보고 동성애 경험이 있는 청소년의 성의식, 동성애 혐오가 우울에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 대상자 표집은 전국을 대도시, 중·소도시, 읍·면 단위로 층화하고 위치와 지역크기, 인구비율을 고려하여 전국 중·고등학생들을 대상으로 무선 표집을 실시하였다. 전체 표집 대상 2,748명 중 응답자수와 불충분한 반응을 제외한 2,205명(남자 1173명, 여자 1032명)의 응답이 최종 분석되었다. 자료분석 결과 첫째, 성별에 따른 비교를 보면 성의식의 경우 여자청소년이 남자청소년보다 성에 대해 보수적이거나 폐쇄적인 것으로 나타났다. 동성애 혐오는 남자청소년이 여자청소년보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며. 우울감의 경우 여자청소년이 남자청소년보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 동성애 경험 유 무에 따른 성의식, 혐오 및 우울을 비교해 본 결과 동성애 경험이 없는 청소년이 동성애 경험이 있는 청소년 보다 성에 대해 보수적이거나 폐쇄적이었으며 동성애 혐오가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 동성애 유경험자는 동성애 무경험자 보다 우울이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 동성애 경험이 있는 청소년의 성의식, 동성애 혐오, 우울간의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 동성애 경험자 중 성에 대해 성에 대해 보수적이거나 폐쇄적일수록 우울이 낮았으며, 동성애에 대한 혐오가 높을수록 우울이 낮았다. 또한 성에 대해 보수적이거나 폐쇄적일수록 동성애 혐오가 높았다. 동성애 유경험자의 성의식, 혐오가 우울에 미치는 영향을 보면 동성애 혐오가 우울에 미치는 영향은 유의미하지 않았으나 성의식이 우울에 미치는 영향은 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 논의 및 함의가 제시되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among homosexual experiences, sexual attitude, sexual homophobic, and depression among adolescents. For this study, students self-reports data from 2,205 middle and high school students were analysed. The results of the study were as follows. According to gender differences, males were more likely to display higher scores on sexual homophobic than female ones, while females were higher on the depression and closeness about sexual attitude. Secondly, according to differences in homosexual experiences, adolescents with no homosexual experiences displayed higher scores on closeness about sexual attitude and sexual homophobic than the counterpart group. However, adolescents with homosexual ones displayed were higher on depression. Thirdly, in the corelation analysis, closeness about sexual attitude and sexual homophobic were negatively correlated with depression. Closeness about sexual attitude was positively correlated with sexual homophobic. Finaly, sexual attitude had an effect on depression with 15% of variance while sexual homophobic has not on depression. Findings and implications are discussed.
