This study was purposed of the effects of the narrative treatment to be successful in reducing state anxiety and enhancing fluency. A participant in this study developed a stuttering behavior without any apparent neurological damage or other speech or developmental impediments. The results of the study was as follows. First, It was also found that narrative activity effective in improving fluency, including hole word repetition, part word repetition, and prolong. Implications for the practice as well as future research was discussed. Second, It was found that narrative therapy contributed to significantly reducing the level of anxiety. In the result, narrative therapy was enhancing fluency in the long-term and reducing state anxiety. Stuttering frequency decreased in the interim assessments.
