The purpose of this study is to research the satisfactions of employer for worker with mental retardation according to employment type (supported employment and sheltered employment) and to examine differences between the satisfaction of employer and the related variables. Also. ultimate purpose is to suggest necessity of more effective employment services based on the satisfaction of employer. Employer has a key decision-making role in the hiring of any employee. Therefore, the negative attitudes of employer considered that it impedes opportunity and maintenance of employment. The instrument primarily consisted of Likert-scale responses and was divided into four major sections including individual and job-related factors, management and regulation-related factors, economy-related factors, social and environment-related factors. The conclusions drawn from the result and discussion were as follows. First. there were statistically significant differences in the levels of satisfaction of employer between supported employment and sheltered employment with regard to four factors in hiring workers with mental retardation. Second. the satisfaction factors of employers appeared statistically more significant correlations. Also, the multiple regression analysis presented the findings that each factors could predict the related variables. These findings present the satisfaction of employer according to employment environment appeared to have statistically significant differences. Thus, the economic assistance regulation need to be improved on inferior circumstances in sheltered employment. Also, in terms of policy, central and local governments should make every effect to ensure that employers become familiar with laws related to the employment of people with disabilities including mental retardation. In terms of supported employment. magnification and retention for opportunity of supported employment should be led through continuous public relation of disabilities employment. Finally, because acquired information in actual employment situation has an effect on disabilities employment, satisfaction of coworker and participant including employer should be collected through various opinion.
