The Influence of Mentoring Program based on Language Stimuli on Improving Emotional and Social Behaviour of Children from Multi-Cultural Family

The aim of this present study was to improve emotional and social behavior of young children from multi-cultural family by mentoring program based on language stimuli. 60 young children from multi-cultural family in agricultural and fishery areas were involved as experimental group(N=30) and comparison group(N=30). The member of mentoring group were consisted with the researchers, 2 experts on child development, and 24 collage students. According to the results, mentoring program based on language stimuli has a positive influence on overall social and emotional development of children from multi-cultural family. It showed a positive influence on reducing aggressive behavior of the young children. When the results compared, after receiving the program, the score of experimental group became significantly lower than that of comparison group. Moreover, when the results from pre and post-test on other social-emotional behaviors(self-esteem, self-respect, self-control, and body image) were compared, that of experimental group became considerably higher whereas that in comparison group did not much change. With the results, it can be seen that mentoring program based on language stimuli has a positive influence on improving the social and emotional behavior of children from multi-cultual family.
