경도인지장애는 정상과 초기 치매 사이의 인지변화를 보이는, 과도기적인 단계의 인지기능장애이다. 본 논문은 경도인지장애의 신경인지적 특징을 밝히고자, 척도와 전산화신경인지기능검사를 실시하였고 이를 정상대조군 및 초기 알쯔하이머병 환자군과 비교분석하였다. 방법 : 경도인지장애 환자 20명, 정상대조군 20명, 알쯔하이머병 환자 20명에게 척도를 평가하고 전산화신경인지기능검사를 실시하였다. 경도인지장애의 진단은 Petersen 진단기준을 사용하였다. 신경인지기능검사에는 숫자 따라하기 검사, 시각적 연속수행능력 검사, 손가락 두드리기 검사가 포함되었다. 결과 : 경도인지장애 환자들은 즉각기억력, 작업기억, 지속적 주의력, 선택적 주의력, 그리고 운동기능에서 정상대조군보다는 저하되고 알쯔하이머병 환자군보다는 나은 결과를 나타내었다. 결론 : 경도인지장애 환자군은 신경인지기능검사와 척도평가 영역에서 임상적으로 정상군과 알쯔하이머병 환자사이의 단계에 위치해 있었다. 본 연구결과는 경도인지장애 환자군이 알쯔하이머병으로 진행할 가능성이 높음을 보여주는 것이며, 이론적으로나 임상적으로 이들 환자들의 특성을 밝혀내는데도 유용하다.
Objectives : Mild cognitive impairment(MCI) represents a transitional state between the cognitive changes of normal aging and early dementia and has become the focal point of much research activity. To determine the cognitive characterictics of MCI, we evaluated scales and neurocognitive function of patients with MCI and compared them with those of normal elderly controls and patients with Alzheimer s disease(AD). Methods : A total of 20 patients with MCI, 20 cognitively normal elderly controls and 20 patients with mild AD were evaluated on scales and computerized neurocognitive function test. A diagnosis of MCI was made using the criteria of Petersen. And the cognitive function tests included digit span, visual continous performance, and finger tapping test. Results : The patients with MCI performed less than the controls but better than the patients with AD on immediate recall, working memory, continous attention, selective attention, and motor function. Conclusion : The patients with MCI were intermediate between clinically normal individuals and the patients with AD on neurocognitive function test and scale ratings. And these results demonstrated that these subjects are at increased risk of processing to AD and are useful to characterize for both theoretical and practical purposes.
