또래아동과의 소집단 미술치료가 자폐성 아동의 사회성 향상에 미치는 효과

The Effect of Small Group Art Therapy Program with Non-handicapped Peers on the Social Skills in Autistic Child

본 연구에서는 일반 또래 아동과의 소집단 미술치료가 자폐성 아동의 사회성 변화에 효과가 있는가를 살펴보고자 하였다. 구체적인 연구 목적은 정상 또래 아동과의 소집단 미술치료프로 그램이 자폐성 아동의 사회성 즉, 사회성 기초기능과 대인관계와 행동의 변화에 효과가 있는가를 알아보는 것이다. 소집단은 대상아동인 자폐성 아동 1명과 정상 또래아동 3명으로 구성되었으며, 미술치료 프로그램은 다양한 미술매체와 방법으로 총 18회기의 프로그램이 진행되었다. 연구의 결과는 회기별 진행과정 기술로 대상아동의 사회성의 변화가 관찰되었고, 사회성 기초기능의 변화가 사회성 기초기능 척도를 통해 사전, 사후에 측정되었으며, 대인관계와 행동의 변화는 이화-자폐아동 행동발달 평가 도구(E-CLAC)를 사용하여 사전, 사후에 측정되었다. 연구의 결과와 논의를 통해 얻어진 결론은 또래아동과의 소집단 미술치료가 자폐성 아동의 회기별 미술치료활동에서의 사회성 변화 및 사회성 기초기능의 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있었으며, 자폐성 아동의 대인관계와 행동의 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 그러나 본 연구는 대상아동이 한 명인 단일 사례연구로서의 제한점을 가지며, 소집단에 참여하는 또래아동들과의 상호작용에 대한 고려가 부족하였으므로 이를 보완한 연구가 필요하다고 본다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers affects social skills in autistic child. The objectives were how dose the small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers affect social skills, personal relationship and behaviors of autistic child in art therapy group activities. One autistic child and three non-handicapped peers attended to the group. ABA experimental design was used and analyzation of the results was done with Basic Social Skills Scale, E-CLAC (EHW A-Check List for Autistic Children) and observational report of researcher and one observer. The results of this study were as follows; First, small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers improved autistic child s social skills in art therapy sessions. Second, small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers improved autistic child s basic social skills. Third, small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers improved autistic child s personal relationship with his parents, sibling, other adults, and other peers. Fourth, small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers improved autistic child s behavior such as concentration and spontaneous imitation. These results suggest small group art therapy with non-handicapped peers improved autistic child s social skills. The findings of this study may provide some suggestions for effective program for autistic children. However these findings cannot be generalized to all children with autism.
