A Study of the Effect of the Rhythmic Speech Language Program on the Improvement of the Fluencyof Elementary School Children s Stuttering

This study aims to investigate the natural speech-out of stuttered children under the training of Rhythmic Speech Language including the speed change by using the metronome and intonation. The subjects of this research were 5stutters in early elementary school. To assess the effect of Rhythmic Speech Language Program on the improvement of stuttering children s fluency, I investigated the frequency and the duration of stuttering and communication attitudes under the pre and post-assessment. The results of this evaluation were as follows. The first, as a result of applying Rhythmic Speech Language Program, the stuttering frequency of stuttered children was improved. The second, as a result of applying Rhythmic Speech Language Program, the stuttering duration of stuttered children was improved. The third, as a result of applying Rhythmic Speech Language Program, the communication attitudes of stuttered children were improved. In conclusion, the result of study showed Rhythmic Speech Language Program by using the proportion control of speech speed and intonation, improved stuttering behavior and the consciousness of the stuttered children and there was the positive effect of the natural speech.
