The purpose of this study was to see effects of the Group Art Therapy to Achievement Motivation of children who have single-parent family. The study participants were 24 students who are attending after-school programs in M and D in D city, and are in the low-income and one-parent family. These students were in 3, 4, and 5th grades who are in the developmental stage of collaboration and these students were randomly posted by each center. 15 Group art therapy programs were operated. Before and after the group art therapy programs the test of the Achievement Motivation Assessment was used. In order to verify the effectiveness of programs pretest-posttest control design has been applied. The test data have been applied the repeated Analysis of Variance(ANOVA) and also it was examined the changes by total achievement motive and each subfactor. Results. First, the Group Art Therapy has positive effect on increasing achievement motive to single-parent family children. Second, the Group Art Therapy has positive effect on increasing both academic and social subfactors of Achievement Motivation Assessment to single-parent family children.
