This study aims to find out how group art therapy can have an effect on reducing married migrant women s acculturative stress and increasing their self-esteem. For this study, I operated group art therapy with the married migrant women who attended the Korean language course in the beginners class in the married migrant women s support center, located in Gyeonggi province. The participants of this study were all 16 people. Eight of them are for experimental group and the other eight of them are for controlled group. I operated the group art therapy ten sessions with the experimental group once or twice a week with 60 minutes per each session from 23th September to 30th October 2008. As a result of this study, total acculturative scores are reduced and self-estem scores are significantly increased in the experimental group who had a group art therapy, but nothing is significantly increased in the controlled group. It shows a positive effect on reducing acculturative stress and increasing self-esteem for married migrant women. Therefore, a group art therapy can be desired as a tool to reduce acculturative stress and to increase self-esteem for married migrant women.
