본 연구는 부산 기장군 지명 중에 ‘달음산’, ‘월음산’으로 불리는 ‘취봉산’을 대상으로 고지도에 나타난 지명의 변천을 살피고 이에 따른 지명의 연원을 밝히는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고유 지명 ‘달음산’은 주봉의 이름이었던 ‘취봉’이 산이름을 대표하여 ‘취봉산’으로 대체되었다. 이후 두 개의 봉우리 중에 주봉을 지속적으로 ‘취봉산’으로 부르게 되고 다른 봉을 ‘달음산’으로 칭하게 되었다. 이후 ‘달음산(達音山)’이 ‘월음산(月陰山)’으로 바뀌어 현재까지 바뀌어 남아 있게 되었고 원래 달음산을 주봉이었던 ‘취봉산’은 후대에 ‘주봉(主峯)’으로 표기되었다가 다시 ‘달음산’으로 바뀌었다. 이때 ‘주봉’은 ‘달음산’, 작은 봉은 ‘월음산’으로 바뀐 것이다. 둘째, 또한 달음산의 연원 중 종전에 ‘달[月]’과 연관된 해석은 이두 표기법을 이해하지 못한 해석이다. 이두식 말음첨기법에 따르면 달음산(達音山)의 ‘달’은 ‘높음, 산, 큼’의 의미를 가진 것이고, ‘음(音)’은 고유어 말음을 표기한 것으로, ‘달음’은 ‘노ᄑᆞᆷ(高)’의 의미로 해석된다. 이는 ‘달음산’이 기장을 대표하는 ‘기장산’으로도 불렸다는 점에서도 타당하다. 또한 ‘달음산’을 ‘취봉산’으로 명명한 것은 ‘달음산’이 두 개의 봉우리를 가진 것에서 연유한다. 즉, 두 개의 봉우리 중 높은 봉우리를 ‘수리봉’으로 부르던 것을 이를 차훈하여 ‘취봉’으로 표기하고 다른 봉우리를 ‘옥녀봉’으로 부르게 된 것에서 기원한다.
This study aims to reveal the etymology and Placename changes of ‘Daleum-san’ in Busan Gijang-gun. The results are summarized as follows. First, ‘Chwibong’, which was originally the main peak of ‘Daleumsan’, was replaced by ‘Chwibongsan’ as the name of the mountain. Afterwards, the main peak of ‘Daleumsan’ was continuously called ‘Chwibongsan’ among the two peaks, and the other peaks were called ‘Daleumsan’. Since then, ‘Daleumsan’ has been changed to ‘Woleumsan’, and ‘Chwibongsan’, which is the main peak of ‘Daleumsan’, was later marked as ‘Jubong(主峯)’ and then changed back to ‘Daleumsan’. At this time, Jubong was changed to ‘Daleumsan’ and small peak to ‘Woleumsan’. Second, eymology, which is associated with ‘moon’ among many etymology of ‘Daleumsan’, is an interpretation that does not understand Idu notational system. According to Idu notional system, ‘Dal’ in ‘Daleumsan’ means ‘high, mountain, and large’ and ‘Eum’ refers to the end of the native word, so ‘Daleum’ is interpreted as ‘high[nopum, 高]’. This is also true in that ‘Daleumsan’ was also called ‘Gijangsan’, representing ‘Gijang’. Also, ‘Daleumsan’ was also called ‘Chwibong’, which was called ‘Suribong’ among the two peaks, and it was called ‘Chwibong’.
