정서와 정서표현에 관한 개념적 고찰

A Conceptual Study on Emotion and Expressions of Emotion

본 연구는 정서(Emotion)와 상담장면에서 정서와 구분되어 사용되는 정서표현(Expressions of Emotion)의 개념을 살펴봄으로써, 적응적 정서표현의 필요성과 그 상담적 함의를 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 정서의 다차원적인 정의와 이론적 배경을 고찰하고, 선행연구의 사례분석을 중심으로 주요 정서표현(Expressions of Emotion) 관련개념 및 개념별 측정도구의 특징을 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 경험된 정서가 처리되는 과정은 정서표현 관련개념의 순환적 인과관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 즉, 정서표현은 단일차원으로는 설명 될 수 없고, 일련의 과정으로서 접근해야 함을 정서표현 관련개념을 통해 단계별로 구체화시켰다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로, 내담자의 고착된 정서패턴과 정서처리과정에 대한 밀착적인 개입 방안을 제시하고 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

Objectives: This study looked at the concepts of emotion itself and the concept of expressions of emotion, which are used separately from emotion in the consultation scene, to find the need for adaptive emotional expression and its counseling implications. Methods: To this end, the multi-dimensional definition and theoretical background of emotion were reviewed, and the key concepts of emotional expression and the characteristics of measuring tools by concept were specifically reviewed, focusing on the case analysis of previous studies. Result: As a result, it was found that there was a cyclical causal relationship of the concept of emotional expression in the process where experienced emotion were handled. In other words, emotional expression cannot be explained at one level, but should be approached by a series of processes, and it is able to embodied stage by stage through the concept of emotional expression. Conclusion: This study will provide an understanding for the emotion and emotional expressions by reviewing the multi-dimensional concepts and features of emotion and emotional expression and the concepts related to the major emotional expressions. Also, an understanding of emotional expression as a process can contribute to effective consultation intervention in that it can identify the inner circle s base of emotional expression and the desire behind it by retracing the client s entrenched emotional pattern and emotional processing process.
