A Teacher’s Story about the Experience of Class Improvement

이 연구는 어느 교사의 학교 차원의 수업개선 경험을 통해 교육개혁에 대한 시사점을 찾아보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 먼저 수업개선에 관심을 가지게 된 개인적 배경을 살펴본 다. 다음으로 개인적인 차원에서 수업개선을 위해 노력해 온 과정을 살펴본다. 그런 다 음 학교 차원의 수업개선을 해오는 과정에서 경험한 답답함과 딜레마, 그리고 자신에 대 한 반성과 변화된 점을 나눈다. 나아가 이 연구는 교사들의 참여와 협력을 교육개혁 성 공의 전제조건으로 본다. 이를 위해 교사들에게 ‘가르치는 자의 마음’을 불러일으킬 수 있는 시간을 마련해주고 학교를 수업중심으로 운영할 것을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine a case in which a teacher made school-wide class improvement and suggest educational reform based on the experience. First, the study will introduce the author s personal background that led to his interest in class improvement. Next, the author will explain the process of class improvement on a personal level, and then discuss the frustration, dilemma, self-reflection and changes during the process of school-wide class improvement. Furthermore, this study concluded that participation and cooperation of teachers is the prerequisite of successful educational reform and proposes that schools provide time and system to teachers to run effective classes.
