Analysis on Articulation of ‘Stimulus and Response’ Unit according to Curriculum Revision in Middle School

Textbooks are used as a means to further refine the content presented in the curriculum and thus play an important role in the realization of the curriculum. Therefore, textbooks should reflect the contents of the curriculum and convey meaningful contents to students. This study analyzed the articulation of ‘stimulus and response’ unit in middle school according to the curriculum change. For this purpose, semantic network analysis was used to analyze the articulation among the 7th curriculum, the 2007, and 2009 revised curriculum. As a result of this study, the number of concepts increased as the curriculum changed, and the main concepts for teaching life science were maintained even after the curriculum was revised. The 2015 revised curriculum focuses on understanding whether hormone types and functions are in maintaining homeostasis through the regulation of nerves occurring in our body, so we need to do research more what phase the nervous system concept will appear in textbooks.
