초급장교의 진로스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향: 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과

The Effect of Career Stress on the Psychological Well-Being of Junior Grade Officers in the Republic of Korea Army: Mediating Effect of Career Decision Self-Efficacy

본 연구는 초급장교의 진로스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 확인하고, 이 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감이 심리적 안녕감을 보호하는 변인으로 매개역할을 하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 J도 J군에 위치한 육군○○학교 고등군사반(OAC)에 입교한 초급장교 350명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 후, 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로스트레스가 높을수록 진로결정 자기효능감과 심리적안녕감이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로결정 자기효능감이 높을수록 심리적 안녕감도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로스트레스와 심리적 안녕감의 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감이 매개변인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와같은 연구의 결과는 초급장교들의 진로스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 부정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 실증적 연구를 통해 검증함으로써 진로스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 잠재적 위험성에 대한 근거를 제시하였다. 또한 초급장교의 진로스트레스와 심리적 안녕감의 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감이 매개역할을 한다는 것을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 초급장교의 심리적인 안녕감을 향상시키기 위하여 진로결정 자기효능감과 같은 내적 역량을 높여줌으로써 그들의 진로스트레스를 효과적으로 다루고, 이를 통해 초급장교의 정신건강 증진과 진로스트레스 예방에 도움을 주는 직업교육 및 심리적 개입을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이라고 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of career stress on the psychological well-being on the Junior grade officers. And this study was also done to investigate whether career decision self-efficacy plays a mediating role in protecting psychological well-being in the aforementioned relationship. For this study, a questionnaire was given to 350 Junior Officers who are taking the Officer’s Advanced Course at the Republic of Korea Army ○○School located in J town, J province. The questionnaire included topics such as career stress, career decision self-efficacy, and a psychological well-being scale. After the results were gathered, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of this study are as follows. First, The higher the career stress of the Junior grade officers, the lower the career decision self-efficacy and psychological well-being. Second, The higher the career decision self-efficacy, the higher the psychological well-being. Third, Career decision self-efficacy plays a role as a partial mediator in relation to career stress and psychological well-being. The results of this study confirm empirical studies that the career stress of the Junior grade officers negatively affects the psychological well-being. This suggests that the career stress of the Junior Officers is related to the potential risk of psychological well-being. This study also demonstrated that career decision self-efficacy plays a mediating role in relationships between career stress and psychological well-being. Based on this, the Junior grade officers in the Republic of Korea Army effectively deal with their career stress by raising internal competencies, such as career decision self-efficacy, to improve their psychological well-being. It is expected that this will be used as basic data for vocational education and psychological interventions to help improve mental health and prevent career stress of Student Officers.
