생명윤리 교육프로그램이 예비과학교사의 생명윤리 인식 및 생명윤리 교육의지에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Bioethics Education Program on Pre-service Science Teachers’ Perception on Bioethics and the Willingness of Bioethics Education

본 연구에서는 생명윤리 교육프로그램이 예비과학교사의 생명윤리 및 생명윤리교육에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 총 5차시로 구성된 생명윤리 교육프로그램을 개발하고 서울에 소재한 대학교의 과학교육과에 개설된 일반생물학실험 수업에 적용하였다. 프로그램의 시작 전과 후에 예비과학교사들의 생명윤리 및 생명윤리교육에 대한 인식조사를 하고, 이들이 작성한 사전과제와 실험보고서 내용을 분석하였다. 이후 수업에 참여한 예비과학교사들 중 7명을 선정하여 면담을 통해 생명윤리 및 생명윤리교육에 대한 인식의 변화를 심도 있게 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생명윤리 교육프로그램은 예비과학교사의 생명윤리에 대한 인식을 향상시켰다. 둘째, 생명윤리 교육프로그램은 예비과학교사로 하여금 생명윤리교육의 중요성을 인식하고 실천의지를 향상시키는데 효과적이었다. 예비과학교사들은 효과적인 생명윤리 교육방법으로 시청각 교육, 역할극 등을 제시하였다. 대학교육에서 생물실험과 연계한 생명윤리 교육프로그램을 활용한다면 예비교사들의 생명윤리 인식 및 생명윤리교육 실행의지 향상에 효과가 있을 것으로 생각된다.

In this study, the researchers examined the effects of the bioethics education program on the perception on bioethics and bioethics education of pre-service science teachers. To this purpose, a bioethics education program consisting of 5 classes was developed and applied to the general biology experiment classes in the science education department of a university in Seoul. Before and after the program, a survey was conducted with preliminary science teachers on the awareness of bioethics and bioethics education. Also, their primary tasks and experiment reports were analyzed. Seven of the pre-service science teachers who participated in the program were interviewed for in-depth analysis on how their perception on bioethics and bioethics education changed. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, the bioethics education program improved the awareness of the pre-service science teachers about bioethics. Second, the bioethics education program was effective in helping them recognize the importance of bioethics education and encouraging the willingness of pre-service science teachers to serve in bioethics education. Future science teachers suggested audio-visual class and role playing as effective methods of teaching bioethics. If bioethics experiments-based education programs are adopted in college education, it will be useful to boost awareness of pre-service teachers and strengthen their willingness to serve in bioethics and bioethics education.
