순천만 IT기반 주제 융합 교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용

Developing and Implementing an IT-based Topic Convergent Educational Program in Suncheon Bay

이 연구는 IT와 생물 융합프로그램을 중학교 과학영재 학생들에게 적용한 후 학생들이 가지고 있는 융합인재 소양과 교육만족도, 실생활 활용 사례를 조사하여 형성평가 함으로써 과학영재교육의 질을 향상시키고자 하였다. 이를 위해 렌줄리의 3부 심화모형을 기반으로 순천만의 생태를 주제로 한 융합형 프로그램을 개발하였다. 2017년 8월부터 2018년 2월에 걸쳐 대학부설 과학영재교육원에 재학 중인 중학생 20여명 대상으로 총 3회차로 나누어 프로그램을 진행하였다. 수집한 자료는 만족도 측정을 위한 설문지, 사진 및 동영상 자료, 개별 학생들의 프로젝트 산출물과 면담 자료이다. 도구적 사례연구를 적용하여 개발한 프로그램을 형성 평가한 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들은 IT 기반 융합 프로젝트에 대한 흥미와 관심이 높았으며, 수업 내용에 대한 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 참여 학생들은 IT 도구를 사용하여 서로 다른 주제를 연계한 탐구 활동을 펼침으로써 다양한 지식을 활용하는 융합적 사고를 함양할 수 있었다. 셋째, 그들은 융합 교육 프로그램을 통해 습득된 지식을 활용하여 학교 과제나 개인 프로젝트에 활용함으로써 융합적 사고를 지속적으로 전개하는 미니 사례를 보여주었다. 마지막으로 IT 기반 주제 융합형 프로그램이 개선되어야 할 요인을 도출하였다.

The purpose of this study was to enhance the quality of Topic Convergent Educational Program, using IT tools in exploring Suncheon Bay Wetland. The program was developed after reviewing and adopting Renzulli‘s gifted education model and conducted for science class for gifted middle school students as part of formative evaluation. The case study was carried out from August 2017 to February 2018 with 20 students. Data collection includes survey, project portfolios, photos, video clips and interview transcripts. The data analysis of students activities illustrated several features of IT Maker experiential learning, Eco-biology exploratory activities based on the series of STEM type educational units, combining IT and biology activities. The formative evaluation indicated that the participants were engaged in IT-biology exploratory learning with high degree of satisfaction. Second, they were able to enhance convergent knowledge and skills with exploring activities linked to diverse topics while visiting Suncheon Bay wetland. Third, the participating students further tried to apply what they learned into individual project or school team projects, following up on their activities even after the programs ended. Lastly, several aspects in need of improvement for the next rounds of applying the program were identified.
