본 연구는 청소년들의 열등감, 지연행동, 진로미결정의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 효과를 확인하여 열등감이 높은 청소년들의 진로미결정 수준을 낮출 수 있도록 돕기 위한 상담적 개입방안을 마련하고자 진행되었다. 구체적으로 청소년의 열등감, 지연행동이 진로미결정에 미치는 영향에서 사회요인인 사회적 지지가 이들의 관계를 조절할 수 있는지를 경험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 경기지역 고등학교 585명으로부터 수집된 자료를 연구에 활용하였으며, 기술통계와 상관관계 분석 및 회귀분석 접근법으로 연구모형을 분석하여 연구문제를 검증하였다. 연구 결과를 보면, 첫째, 열등감의 하위요인과 진로미결정의 영향 관계에서 신체적 열등감과 사회적 열등감, 가정적 열등감이 진로미결정에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 지연행동이 진로미결정에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 사회적 지지는 진로미결정에 부(-)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 열등감과 진로미결정의 관계에서 지연행동의 부분 매개효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 열등감과 진로미결정의 관계에서 지연행동이 미치는 영향을 사회적 지지가 조절하는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉 사회적 지지가 열등감과 지연행동이 진로결정에 미치는 부정적 영향을 약화시키는 기능이 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 열등감, 지연행동, 진로미결정의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 영향력을 확인해 줌으로써 열등감을 지닌 청소년들을 대상으로 하는 진로상담에 필요한 방안을 제시하였다.
This study examined the effects of social support on the relationship between inferiority complex, delayed behavior, and career decision-making in youth, in order to guide counseling to reduce career indecision in youth with a high sense of inferiority. Data were collected from 585 high school students in Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results indicated that subfactors of inferiority (physical, social, and family inferiority) had a significant effect on career indecision. While, social support had a negative effect on career decision making. Delaying behavior partially mediated the relationship between inferiority complex and career indecision. Whereas, social support regulated the effect of delaying behavior in the relationship between inferiority and career indecision. In other words, social support reduced the negative effects of inferiority and delaying behavior on career decision-making. This study informs career counseling for youth with inferiority complex by highlighting the relationship between inferiority, delaying behavior and career decision-making.
