본 연구의 목적은 건반 연주 중심의 음악치료가 회복기 뇌졸중 환자의 손 기능 향상에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 연구대상은 경기도 소재의 재활병원에 입원 중인 뇌졸중 환자 9명으로 이 중 5명은 치료 집단, 4명은 대기 집단으로 무선 배치하였다. 치료 집단은 주 5회 30분씩 30회기, 치료 집단이 15회기를 마친 이후 대기 집단은 주 5회 30분씩 15회기에 걸쳐 음악치료를 받았다. 환자들의 손 기능 변화를 측정하기 위해 박스와 블록 검사, 장악력 검사, 파지력 검사, 미디 프로그램을 사용한 타력 측정 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 건반 연주 중심의 음악치료는 손 조작능력 및 기민성, 파지력, 타력 향상에 긍정적인 효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 건반 연주 중심의 음악치료 프로그램이 회복기 뇌졸중 환자의 손 기능 향상에 효과적인 치료적 중재법이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
This study investigated the effect of a keyboard-based music therapy intervention on improvement in hand functionality in convalescent stroke patients. Participants included nine stroke patients admitted to a rehabilitation hospital in Gyeonggi-do. Five participants were assigned to the treatment group, and four to a wait list control group. The treatment group received 30 half-hour music therapy sessions, 5 times per week. After the completion of 15 sessions, the control group received 15 half-hour music sessions, 5 times per week. Changes in hand functionality were measured using the box and block test, grip strength test, pinch gauge test and applied finger velocity test, based on the MIDI program (Cubase). The results indicated that keyboard-based music therapy improves hand manipulation ability, dexterity, pinch power and velocity in stroke patients. These findings suggest that keyboard-based music therapy programs can be an effective intervention for improving hand functionality in convalescent stroke patients.
