부모주도형 토요 숲활동 운영 사례연구: 초등학교 저학년 부모를 중심으로

A Case Study on the Operation of Parent-driven Saturday Forest Activity: Focusing on Parents of the Lower Grades in Elementary School

연구목적: 본 연구는 부모주도형 토요 숲활동의 운영형태와 그 의미 탐색을 바탕으로 숲활동의 새로운 유형과 초등 숲활동에서 부모주도의 운영이 가지는 시사점을 찾는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 부모 심층면담과 현장 참여관찰의 방법을 선택하였다. 연구결과: 부모들은 자발적으로 헤어짐의 아쉬움을 달래기 위해 숲활동을 시작하였고, 아이들의 흥미와 놀이 중심으로 일 년의 계획을 만들어 나갔다. 실제 숲에서의 활동은 부모들의 재능기부와 책임 있는 자세를 바탕으로 운영되어갔으며, 부모가 주도하는 숲활동을 통해 참여하는 사람들은 공동체적 삶의 소중함을 다시 경험하고 자녀의 변화를 통해 숲활동의 교육적 가치를 인정하는 모습을 보여주었다. 뿐만 아니라 숲이라는 대자연 그 자체로 즐거움을 느끼기도 하였다. 논의 및 결론: 이 같은 결과를 바탕으로 초등시기 아이들에게 자연에서의 놀이를 통한 건강 및 부모와의 긍정적 유대 경험을 확대할 수 있는 부모주도형 사례가 확산되기를 기대해 본다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find the new types of forest activity and the implications of the operation of parent-driven forest activity for elementary school students by exploring the operational form and meanings of parent-driven Saturday forest activity. Method: In order to show and reconstruct what has actually happened in the school field, we chose a narrative inquiry and Participation observation as a research method. Results: In the results of conducting the in-depth interview with school parents and the participatory observation in field, the parents voluntarily started the forest activity to soothe the sorrow of parting, and made a whole-year plan focusing on children’s interest and play. Actually, the activity in the forest was operated based on the donation of talent and responsible attitude of the parents. The participants in the parent-driven forest activity experienced the preciousness of communal life again, and also recognized the educational value of forest activity through the changes in their children. Moreover, they also felt pleased by Mother Nature of forest itself. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, the parent-driven cases that could expand the experience of health and positive bond between parents and children in elementary school through play in nature should be noted.
