장애자녀를 둔 다문화가정 어머니의양육경험에 대한 사례연구

Case Study on the Nurturing Experience of Mothers with Disabled Children in Multi-cultural Families

본 연구의 목적은 장애자녀를 둔 다문화가정 어머니가 양육경험에서 받는 어려움을 알아보고 필요한 요구를 도출하여 해결방안을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 연구 대상자로는 장애아동이 장애인복지관을 이용하고 있는 다문화가정의 어머니 5명에 대한 반구조화된 면담을 2018년 06월 01일부터 11월 30일까지 실시하였다. 분석결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어와 문화에 대한 교육과 인식이 부족한 상황에서 결혼을 하였으며, 장애자녀를 출산하고 장애진단 후 다문화센터의 소개로 장애인복지관을 이용하게 되었으며, 둘째, 장애자녀에 대한 대처상황으로는 장애인복지관에서 치료와 교육지원을 받고 있으나 양육 스트레스에 의해서 긍정적인 측면과 부정적인 측면이 공존하고 있었다. 셋째, 다문화로 인하여 사회문화적인 어려움과 장애자녀 양육으로 인한 어려움이 있었으며, 이를 해결하기 위하여 다양한 지원들을 요구하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 다문화가정 어머니들이 장애자녀를 양육하는데 있어서 어려움을 개선하고 지원사항을 반영할 수 있는 논의들을 제안하였다.

This study aims to investigate the difficulties in raising disabled children for mothers in multi-cultural families, and propose solutions to resolve these issues. To this purpose, five mothers from multi-cultural families whose children frequent social welfare centers were chosen as subjects, and semi-structured interviews were conducted on them from 2018.6.1. to 2018.11.30. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the mothers were not properly educated in the Korean language and culture before marriage, and were introduced to the social welfare centers by the multi-cultural center staff after giving birth to children with disabilities. Second, even though they were being provided health and educational aid from the disabled welfare centers, positive and negative aspects of child-rearing were coexistent in all the mothers. Third, they appeared to be experiencing social-cultural difficulties and stress from raising a disabled child at the same time, and demanded various aids to solve these issues. These results from a basis for proposing support programs to relieve the difficulties in raising disabled children for mothers in multi-cultural families.
