국내 한국어 학습자의 학습 환경에 대한 불안 연구

A Study on Language Anxiety about L2 Learning Environment of Korean Learners

이 논문에서는 국내에서 한국어를 학습하는 외국인 학습자를 대상으로 이들의 학습 환경에 대한 불안을 탐색하고 이를 완화하기 위한 방안을 논의하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국어 학습자 125명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였으며, 연구 분석 결과, 학습 환경에 대한 불안은 실생활에서의 소통으로 인한 불안, 경제적 부담으로 인한 불안, 한국에서의 일상생활 적응에 관한 불안, 문화 차이로 인한 불안, 한국인과의 교류 부족으로 인한 불안으로 범주화됨을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 그동안 국내의 학습 환경 맥락에서 다루어지지 않았던 한국어 학습자의 불안을 탐색하였다는 것에서 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 이를 통해 학습자의 원활한 한국어 학습과 유학 생활 적응에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

In this paper, it was intended to discuss ways to explore and alleviate anxiety about their learning environment(L2 environment) for Korean learners. Anxiety as an affective factor, playing an imperative role in foreign language learner’s language performance and is also generally know to have pessimistic influences in academic achievement. Especially, the differences in every learning environment plays a huge part as the Korean learners in Korea learns the language as the target language. Since the Korean learners in Korea have to live in Korea and speak the language in order to make livings out of it, the horizon of anxiety study needs to be extended further outside the class. The following research conducted a survey of 125 Korean learners and analyzed the results, and found that the anxiety about the learning environment was categorized into anxiety caused by economic burden, anxiety about adapting to daily life in Korea, anxiety about real-life communication in Korea, anxiety due to cultural differences, and lack of interaction with Koreans. This study can be meaningful in that it explored the anxiety about L2 learning environment in South Korea of Korean learners, and this study can help learners learn Korean effectively and adapt to studying abroad life.
