대학생 진로교과목 운영의 효과에 대한 메타분석

Meta-analysis of the Effect of Career Subject Class for Undergraduate Students

본 연구의 목적은 최근 정부 정책 등으로 인해 주목받고 있는 대학생들을 대상으로 한 정규교육과정으로서의 진로교과목 운영 관련 연구의 동향과 이러한 교과목 운영이 대학생 진로발달 및 성숙에 미치는 효과를 양적으로 분석하고 일반화함으로써, 향후 진로교과목의 효과적 운영에 대한 방향과 시사점을 모색하기 위함이었다. 이를 위해 2010년부터 20019년까지 최근 10년간 한국교육학술정보원, 국회도서관, 한국학술정보원, DBpia에 등록된 논문 중 대학생을 대상으로 진로교과목 운영 관련 효과검증을 주제로 한 학회지 및 학위논문 총 25편(k=66)을 대상으로 교과목 수행연도, 학년 구성, 수업방식, 수업목적, 측정된 진로 관련 변인을 조절변인으로 하여 메타분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로교과목의 평균 효과크기는 0.457로 보통 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교과목 수행연도에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 2016년∼2019년까지의 효과크기가 2015년까지의 효과크기보다 큰 것으로 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 학년에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 학년 혼합이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 수업방식에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 강의+활동 수업방식이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 수업목적에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 진로설계가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 진로 관련 변인에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 진로준비행동이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 대학의 진로교과목 운영과 대학생의 진로발달 간의 관계를 밝히는 유용한 기초정보를 제공하고, 이와 관련한 후속연구에 대한 시사점을 제공함에 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of career subject classes in university in the last 10 years quantitatively. In the study, 25 articles(k=66) of career subject classes in university were selected from domestic master’s and doctoral dissertations and journal articles from 2010 to 2019. The results of the study were summarized as follows: First, overall effect size was 0.457, which is considered as medium when using criteria suggested by Cohen(1988). Second, the effect size of career subject classes conducted from 2016 to 2019 was larger than the effect size of the classes conducted before 2016, but it was not statistically significant. Third, mixed grades was the most effective. Forth, teaching method of mixed the lecture-centered and the activity-centered was the most effective. Fifth, the subject goal of career design was the most effective. Finally, career preparation behavior was the most effective in the factors related to career. The results of this study suggest that more research is needed to verify the effectiveness of career courses for undergraduate students and that effective teaching methods are needed to be provided depending on the subject, as the courses have recently been established as general curriculum. The study is based on only 30 articles about the effect of career subject class for undergraduate students in the last 10 years, so it is needed to be careful with interpretation.
