Encountering Islamic Culture: Toward Kingdom Presentation

  • 2

This study aims to explore how the kingdom gospel and theology address the values and needs of Islamic honor-shame people. Although Muslims are familiar and can relate with the biblical figures, they have hard time relating to the theology that the Christians draw out of the Bible. This is because of the ways and terms Christian theology is framed and expressed. The Christian soteriology is formulated in terms of Innocence-guilt cultural values, which are not the primary concerns of the Muslims. This study argues that there is a need for the gospel to speak in its own terms and languages.
