요한 세바스티안 바흐의 음악과 신학의 이해

Johann Sebastian Bach’s Understanding of Music and Theology

바흐는 바흐연구가들과 특별히 독일 음악연구가들에 의해 위대하고 새로운것을 창조하고, 변화와 혁신의 음악 역사를 새로 쓴 천재적인 인물로 평가된다. 음악 요소와 작곡 방식이 누구도 따라 할 수 없는 다양성과 몰입의 결과로써 현시대에까지 시사하는 바가 크다. 이러한 바흐의 다양한 음악 장르 안에는 신학적 의미가 있으며, 당대의 신학적 흐름과 더불어 바흐 개인의 신앙의 방향성이 담겨있다. 루터는 바흐에게 큰 영향을 미친 인물이며, 음악과 신학을 한 연장선에서 바라보고 예배 음악에 대해 정의 내릴 수 있는 신학학자이자 음악가라고 본다. 이 글에서 루터와 바흐의 접점을 살펴보았고, 그들의 신학적 견지를 이해함으로써 음악과 신학의 새로운 지평을 연 선구자로서의 두 인물이 상징하는 바를 예술 안에서 제시하고자 하였다.

Bach is regarded by Bach researchers and especially German music researchers as a genius who created new and great innovated music, changing and rewriting music history. Bach’s music has great implications even to this day because the elements of his music and the way it is composed are the result of diversity and immersion that no one else could imitate. There is a theological significance within Bach’s various musical genres, as well as the direction of Bach’s individual faith in addition to the current theological trend. Luther had profound influence on Bach in the way he saw music and theology, and his worship music can be extended and defined in a perspective of theologian and musician. In this article, we are able to see the interface between Luther and Bach, and by understanding their theological point of view, we tried to present in art what the two figures as pioneers who opened up new horizons of music and theology.
