NCS 직업기초능력에 대한 4년제 대학생들의 요구: IPA를 통한 사례 연구

Importance-Performance Analysis on University Students` Recognition of NCS Vocational Competency

이 연구의 목적은 NCS 직업기초능력에 대한 4년제 대학생들의 인식을 분석하고 이를 근거로 NCS 직업기초능력 교육의 성공적인 안착을 위해 대학교육에 반영해야 할 내용이 무엇인지를 도출하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 D시에 소재한 A대학교의 1∼4학년 2,046명이다. 연구 도구는 10개 NCS 직업기초능력의 34개 하위능력을 34개 문항으로 구성하였으며, 자료 분석은 중요도와 개발되는 정도를 분석(IPA)하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 10개의 직업기초능력 및 34개의 하위능력에 대한 대학생들의 인식을 IPA 분석한 결과, 대체로 제 1사분면과 제 3사분면에 분포하는 경향을 나타내었다. 즉, 중요도를 높게 인식하는 능력은 개발되는 정도도 높게 인식하고 중요도를 낮게 인식하는 능력은 개발되는 정도도 낮게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기개발능력의 하위능력인 경력개발능력과 대인관계능력의 하위능력인 협상능력은 중요도는 높지만 개발되는 정도는 낮은 것으로 인식하고 있어 우선적으로 개발이 필요한 능력으로 나타났다. 이에 이 연구는 대학생들이 중요성을 낮게 인식하는 능력들을 중심으로 NCS 직업기초능력의 중요성과 필요성 인식을 위한 교육 프로그램의 개발 및 제공이 필요하며, 중요성은 높으나 개발 정도는 낮게 인식한 자기개발능력과 협상능력 등의 제고를 위한 교육과정 및 교육 프로그램을 우선적으로 개발하여 제공할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 이 연구 결과는 대학생 직업기초능력 개발을 위한 교육과정 개발 및 운영에 중요한 기초자료를 제공하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyzes university students` recognition of National Competency Standard(NCS) vocational competency and to drive contents that need to reflect the curriculum for them. For this purpose, two thousand forty-six students from a University in D city participated. The survey instrument used for this study contains a total of thirty-four questions based on thirty-four sub-competencies of NCS vocational competencies. Import-Performance Analysis(IPA) was used to analyze recognitions of university students. The results of this study are as follows. First, the IPA of ten NCS vocational competency and thirty-four sub-competencies revealed that almost all competencies and sub-competencies took Quadrant Ⅰ of high importance and high performance and Quadrant Ⅲ of low importance and low performance. Second, `career development capability`(sub-competency of self-development capability) and `negotiation skills`(sub-competency of interpersonal relation skills) took Quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. These were identified as the highest priority sub-competencies of vocational competency to university students. From the above results, this study suggested that the programs to make university students aware of the importance of the vocational competency need to be developed. Also, the curricula and programs that need to be developed to improve university students` `career development capability` and `negotiation skills` are those Quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. The results of this study are expected to serve the valuable and significant data for curriculum development and implementation to improve the NCS vocational competency of university students.
