교사의 심리적 소진과 관련된 기존 연구는 대부분 심리적 소진에 영향을 주는 변인을 탐색하는 데 초점을 두고 이루어졌다. 그러나 최근 심리적 소진을 완화시키는 보호요인에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근에 가장 많은 주목을 받고 있는 보호요인 중의 하나인 사회적 지지가 유치원 교사들에게 미치는 위험요소의 영향을 완화시켜 주는 지를 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 부산광역시 소재 41개 사립유치원에 재직하고 있는 교육경력이 1년 이상인 교사 300명이 참여하였고, 이 중 248명의 자료가 최종 연구 자료로 활용되었다. 연구 참여자에게 심리적 소진 검사, 사회적지지 검사 및 직무환경의 위험요소 검사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과 유치원 교사의 직무환경의 위험요소, 사회적지지 및 심리적 소진은 상호 유의미한 관계를 보였고, 직무환경의 위험요소는 유치원 교사의 심리적 소진을 증가시키는 데 영향을 주었으며, 사회적 지지는 유치원 교사의 직무환경의 위험요소가 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향을 완화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 사립유치원 교사만을 대상으로 하였고, 사회적 지지를 유형별로 구분하여 분석하지 못했으며, 다양한 보호요인 중 사회적 지지만을 고려했다는 제한점이 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 본 연구는 사회적 지지의 완충 효과를 밝혔다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다 할 것이다.
Previous studies concerning psychological burnout of teachers were mostly undertaken focusing on exploring variables which may influence on psychological burnout. However, recently interest in protective factors that buffer psychological burnout has been increased. This study investigated the buffering effect of social support which is one of the protective factors that draw the most attention on psychological burnout of kindergarten teachers. 300 private kindergarten teachers who have at least 1 year teaching experience from 41 private kindergarten in Busan. Participants completed Psychological Burnout Inventory, Social Support Scale and Test of Risk Factor of Job Environment. Date from 248 teachers were used for statistical analysis. Collected data were analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis revealed that risk factors of job environment, social support and psychological burnout were statistically significantly interrelated and risk factors of job environment influenced upon psychological burnout of kindergarten teachers. Statistical analysis also showed that social support buffered the influence of risk factors on psychological burnout of kindergarten teachers. The implications of these results on theory and practice of psychological burnout were discussed. Limitations of this study included using only private kindergarten teachers, not analyzing data based upon the type of social support and using only social support among many protective factors. Nevertheless, this study is significant in that identifying the buffering effect of social support on psychological burnout of kindergarten teachers.
