본 연구의 목적은 유아교육과 신입생의 자아개념과 교육신념의 관계를 파악하고, 신입생이 유치원 교사에 대해 가지고 있는 이미지를 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 T광역시 소재 4년제 대학 유아교육과에 입학한 신입생 80명이다. 자료 수집은 자아개념과 교육신념은 설문지를 이용하였고, 유치원 교사에 대한 이미지는 ``유아교사는 ________이다. 왜냐하면 _________하기 때문이다``라는 문항을 통해 수집하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석방법은 상관분석과 중다회귀분석 및 내용분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 유아교육과 신입생들은 가정적 자아개념을 가장 높게, 도덕적 자아개념이 가장 낮게 평가하였다. 교육신념의 경우 성숙주의를 가장 높게, 행동주의를 가장 낮게 평가하였다. 성숙주의 교육신념을 예측할 수 있는 자아개념 하위변인은 도덕적 자아개념이었고, 행동주의 교육신념을 예측할 수 있는 자아개념 하위변인은 도덕적 자아개념과 가정적 자아개념이었다. 유치원 교사에 대한 은유를 내용 분석한 결과, 신입생들이 유치원 교사에 대해 가지고 있는 역할에 대한 이미지는 양육자, 자질에 대한 이미지는 좋은 성품, 직업에 대한 이미지는 중요한 직업이라는 이미지를 가장 많이 갖고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.
The purpose of this study is to analyzes the relationship of self-concept and teacher belief of freshman in early childhood education, and to investigate the image of kindergarten teacher recognized by the freshman. The subjects of this study were 80 freshman in early childhood education department at a university. The instruments used for the study were self-concept scale, teacher belief scale, and the images that freshman had about kindergarten teachers collected by having them answer the question which was ``Kindergarten teacher is ____. Because of ____.``The collected data were analyzed by Pearson`s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis, using the SPSS/PC 19.0, and content analysis. According to the research results, Freshman was the highest rating family self-concept, and the lowest rating moral self-concept And Freshman was the highest rating maturationism educational belief, and the lowest rating behaviorism educational belief. It was predicted that maturationism educational belief did moral self-concept, and behaviorism educational belief did moral self-concept and family self-concept. The image that freshman had about kindergarten teacher was caregivers, good character, and important job.
