본 연구는 고학력 여성의 해외취업 성공경험에 대한 탐색을 목적으로 그들의 해외취업 동기, 성공요인, 만족도 등에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 해외취업에 성공한 전문대학 졸업 이상의 학력을 가진 여성들을 대상으로 이메일 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 이들이 해외취업을 선택하게 하는 개인적 요인으로는 진취적 성향/호기심/도전정신, 이문화 노출경험, 전공, 외국어 능력, 이문화 적응력, 적극적 경력개발 노력 등이 발견되었으며, 사회적 요인으로는 불만족스런 노동시장관행, 조직문화, 인사관리 방식 등이 언급되었다.
The purpose of this study is to explore success experience in overseas careers of highly educated women in Korea, including their motivations, success factors, and satisfaction. The women college graduates who succeeded in finding overseas career through government agencies were interviewed through email. The findings imply that the personal pushing factors which helped them voluntarily go abroad for employment include curiosity/willingness for risk taking, previous cross-cultural experience, field of study in colleges, foreign language proficiency, cultural adaptability, and long-term career development plans. Meanwhile, the social. structural pushing factors include discriminating labor market practices as well as rigid organizational culture and human resources.
