이 연구는 국가기술자격 중 가장 많은 기계 직무분야 자격종목에 대한 개선 방안을 마련하기 위해서 수행되었다. 연구방법은 문헌조사, 전문가 협의회, 기계분야 자격종목 개선(안)에 대한 전문가 그룹의 의견조사 등의 방법을 활용하였다. 국가기술자격법을 기반으로 자격 종목개선 및 정비를 위한 폐지, 통합, 존치 기준이 각각 마련되었다. 연구결과는 첫째, 기계분야 자격 중 폐지가 필요한 자격종목은 3개였다. 둘째, 기계분야 자격 중 24개 자격종목이 통합되어 12개의 자격종목으로 정비되는 것이 적절하였다. 셋째 기계분야 자격으로 존치가 필요한 자격종목은 75개로 나타났다. 넷째, 기계분야 자격으로 신설이 필요한 자격은 2개의 자격 종목이 있는 것으로 조사·분석되었다.
The objective of this study is to examine machinery qualification items in terms of industry demands, which show the highest number of qualification items in the national technical qualification. To conduct the study, we applied following research methods such as literature review, expert meetings, and survey of expert group` opinions for the improvement of machinery qualification items. We have prepared 3 set of standards for abolishment, integration and maintenance of machinery qualification items, based on National Technical Qualification Act. As a result of the study, we were able to find out that first, there were three qualification items that were needed to be abolished. Second, among machinery qualification items, there were 24 items that were needed to be integrated and aligned to 12 items. Third, there were 75 machinery qualification items that were needed to be maintained. Lastly, there were 2 qualification items that were called for new development of qualification items.
