이 연구의 목적은 전문계 고등학생의 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 변인으로서 학교 진로지도 경험 및 개인·가정 변인의 효과를 구명하는데 있었다. 이를 위해 한국교육고용패널의 전문계 고교생 2-3학년자료(2006-2007년)를 활용하여 무선효과모형 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 전문계 고등학교의 진로지도는 학생의 진로성숙에 실질적인 영향을 주지 않았다. 전문계 고등학생들의 진로지도 참여와 만족도가 전반적으로 낮았으며, 이로 인해 고등학교 3학년까지도 자신의 적성이나 미래의 진로를 결정하지 못하는 사례가 많았다. 오히려 학교에서의 진로지도보다는 가정에서의 진로관련 대화나 활동, 그리고 개인적 성향이 학생들의 진로성숙에 더 많은 영향을 미쳐 전문계 고등학교에서의 진로지도가 진로선택이나 준비를 위한 수단으로서 기능하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 최근 진학 중심의 진로지도로 인해 학생들이 졸업직후 혹은 장래 직업을 획득하기에 필요한 단계적인 발달과업을 정확하게 파악하는데 있어 학교 진로지도가 도움을 주지 못하고 있으며, 아울러 학생들이 주로 대학진학을 우선적으로 고려함으로써 성적으로 인한 진학 외의 진로결정 대안을 탐색하는데 어려움을 갖고 있다는 것을 시사한다. 한편, 이상의 결과를 토대로 전문계 고등학교에서의 진로지도 활동에 대한 개선점과 향후 연구에 대해 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of career guidance and variables related to individual and family on student`s career maturity in vocational high school. To achieve the purpose, two years of the KEEP data(2006-2007) were analyzed by random effect model was conducted. The effect of career guidance on career maturity of student did not sufficient in vocational high school. Participation and satisfaction of students on career guidance activities was low, which causes students not to recognize aptitude and decide their career. Conversation related to career in home affected to career maturity rather than career guidance in school, which implied that career guidance in school did not support student to recognize development tasks required to prepare for future occupation. This problem resulted from career guidance in school based on college preparation. On the other hand, it was possible that vocation high school students could hardly search a reasonable alternative for career decision except for college entrance because they firstly consider college preparation. Based on the above results, some recommendations for improvement of career guidance in vocational high school and future research were suggested.
