한국고용정보원의 대졸자직업이동경로조사(GOMS)자료를 이용하여 자격의 유형과 분야, 등급별로 취업과 임금효과를 분석하였다. 자격취득자의 취업확률은 자격 비취득자에 비해서 1.7%(남자 1.4%, 여자 2.4%) 높았으며, 특히 국가전문자격(4.6%)과 면허형 자격(7.5%)이 취업확률에 뚜렷한 정(+)의 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 국가기술자격과 공인 민간자격의 취업효과는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 국가기술자격의 등급별 취업효과는 기능사, 기사, 산업기사의 순으로 높았다. 분야별로는 남자의 경우에 정보통신분야에 비해 제조 및 비제조 관련분야가 월등하게 높았고, 여성의 경우에는 분야별 차이가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 한편 자격의 임금효과는 나타나지 않았다. 유형별 분석에서 다른 조건을 통제한 후에 국가기술자격은 비자격자에 비해 유의하게 임금에 부(-)의 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 등급별 분석에서 남성의 경우 기사는 기준집단인 기능사에 비해 임금이 7.1% 높았으며, 여성의 경우에는 등급별 임금 차이가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다.
This study examined the effect of occupational certification using GOMS data. We found that certification had a positive effect of 1.7%(men 1.4%, women 2.4%) for employment: the governmental certification had an effect of 4.6% and licensing had 7.5%. However, the effect of the governmental certification of technology and the nongovernmental certification was non-significant. The grade effect of the governmental certification of technology was higher in order of craftsman, industrial engineer, engineer. The effect of a industrial field was that the manufacturing and the non-manufacturing industry has a higher effect than information technology industry for men, and there was no significant industrial field effect for women. On the other hand, there was no general significant effect of certification on wage. The governmental certification of technology had a negative effect. However, the engineer grade of the governmental certification of technology had a 7.1% higher wage effect than craftsman grade, and there was no significant grade effect for women.
