이 연구는 제 7차 교육과정의 시행과 함께 2000년부터 통합되었던 일부 교사 자격 표시과목의 문제점을 밝히고, 개선방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 연구결과를 통하여 도출된 중등 교사자격증 통합표시과목 개선방안을 다음과 같이 제시한다. 첫째, 자원·환경을 자원, 환경, 건설을 건축, 토목, 화공·섬유를 화공, 섬유, 전기·전자·통신을 전기, 전자·통신, 기계·금속을 기계·자동차, 금속으로 분리하여 표시한다. 둘째, 통합표시과목을 취득하였어도 분리된 타 전공영역에서 14학점 이상 이수하였을 경우에만 부전공으로 표시과목을 부여하고, 임용 시험 시 전공과목이나 부전공과목으로 응시할 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 종전표시과목은 종전표시과목을 유지하고, 통합표시과목은 과목을 분리 하되 통합표시과목 중에서 주 전공 영역은 전공 표시과목으로 하고 타 전공영역은 부전공 표시과목으로 한다.
The purpose of this research was made to suggest the improvement for problems of integrated indication subject of secondary school teacher`s certificate issued by the operation of the 7th national curriculum in 2000. Throughout this study, some suggestion for the reasonable reform of integrated indication subject of secondary school teacher`s certificate are as follows: First, it is strongly recommended that the integrated subject, for example, of resource·environment should be separated by the subjects of resource and environment, respectively; subject of construction by the subjects of architecture and civil engineering; subject of electricity·electronics·communication by the subjects of electricity, electronics and communication; subject of machinery·metal by machinery·automobile and metal. Second, second major certificate is recognized not to major subject among integrated subject with taking more than 14 units of second major. And also the eligibility to take the recruiting examination will be given to those who has second major certificate. Third, it is desirable that existed indication subject is recognized as existed indication subject. And integrated indication subject should be separated with major and second major subjects; major subject is recognized as major; second major subject as second major subject under new system of teacher`s certificate.
