본 연구의 목적은 제7차 교육과정에서 심화선택과목으로 편성된 고등학교 가정과학 교과서의 외형적 체제와 내용을 분석하여 교과서와 관련된 정보를 제공하여 다양한 교과서의 특징을 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있고 학교 현장에서 적극 활용할 수 있는 교수·학습 자료의 폭을 넓히고, 교과서를 평가하고, 선택하는 준거를 설정하는데 도움을 주고자 하는 것이다. 분석 방법은 내용 분석법을 사용하였으며, 연구의 과정은 교과서 분석과 분석한 내용의 비교 순으로 하였다. 2003년부터 적용된 고등학교 2-3학년(11-12학년) 심화선택과목인 가정과학 교과서의 체제는 겉표지, 면지, 속표지, 교과 성격, 머리말, 목차, 찾아보기로 구성되었고 구성 순서와 흐름은 대부분 유사하였다. 지도 영역의 구성과 비중을 보면, 구성 비중은 교과서마다 차이가 있었고 내용의 수준은 기술·가정 교과에 비해 심화된 내용으로 되어 있다. 활동과 실험·실습의 수는 소비 생활 영역에서 활동과 실험 실습의 수가 많았다. 활동과 실험·실습의 주제는 실제 생활에 적용할 수 있도록 하는 주제로 주안점을 두어 구성하고 있다. 영역별 그림, 사진, 표의 수는 평균 360개 정도로 제시될 정도로 많으며, 학생들의 접근을 높이기 위해 최근의 자료로 구성되어 있다. 3개 교과서 모두 남성의 출현 비율보다 여성의 출현 비율이 많았으며, 가족 생활과 소비생활에서 남성의 적극적인 역할 참여가 나타나고 있다.
The purposes of the study were to analyze the formats and the contents of 3 home economics science textbooks, to let teachers be able to look the materials up in the textbooks with easy, and to make teachers use it for their teaching. The procedures of the study were a textbook analysis and a comparison of the results of the analysis in order. Home economics science that is an advanced elective for 11th and 12th grade has been taught since 2003. It consists of a cover page, a flyleaf, the inside of a book cover, characters of the subject, a preface, a table of the contents, and references. The orders and flow of the textbooks` format were similar to each other. Though 3 textbooks had differences in the distribution ratio, they contained more advanced contents than those of Technology and Home economic. Tasks and laboratory experiences were large in number in the area of consumption life. The themes of the tasks and the laboratory experiences mostly focused on one that can be applied in real lives. The average number of illustrations, pictures and tables in each area was many as 360 and contained the latest sources in order to raise students` accessibility. Appearance ratio of female was more than that of male in all of 3 textbooks and the positive role participation of male was showed in the areas of family life and consumption life.
