본 연구는 여학생용 자기진단검사의 양호도를 검증하고, 여학생의 진로발달을 학년에 따른 변화 추이와 단과대학별 특성을 분석하여 그 결과를 활용한 구체적이고 적극적인 진로지도 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에 사용된 자기진단검사는 여학생을 위한 진로지도시 활용하도록 개발된 검사로서, 흥미, 직업적 가치, 성격, 기술, 선호직업의 5개 차원에서, 그리고 각 차원은 활동적 영역, 탐구적 영역, 예술적 영역, 진취적 영역, 관습적 영역, 사회적 영역으로 나누어진 총 168개의 문항으로 구성되어 있다. 연구대상자는 2004년도에 D대학에 재학 중인 5,710명의 여학생이다.연구결과 D대학 여학생이 가지고 있는 흥미와 선호직업은 진취적 영역의 것을 가장 선호하지만, 실제로 보유하고 있는 기술과 직업적 가치관 및 성격은 사회적 영역의 특성을 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 이는 학생들의 흥미와 선호하는 직업과 실제 보유하고 있는 성격이나 기술이 차이가 있음을 나타내는 것으로 이러한 불일치를 줄일 수 있는 개인과 학교의 노력이 필요함을 시사하는 것이다.한편 학년과 단과대학에 따른 차이를 분석해 본 결과, 기술과 성격차원을 제외한 다른 차원에서 학년에 따른 의미있는 차이는 없었으나, 단과대학에 따라서는 차이가 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 여대생을 위한 진로지도를 계획할 때 단과대학의 특성에 따라 차별화된 교육과정이 필요하며, 특히 미취업에 대한 불안감, 여성으로의 취약성 및 지방대학이라는 상대적인 불리함을 극복하고 그동안 학습해 온 자신의 실력을 충분히 발휘하여 취업에 성공할 수 있도록 학교에서는 여학생의 특성이 반영된 체계적인 진로교육을 실시해야 할 것이다.
Self-assessment tests were developed to utilize in the first step of career exploration for female college students. The test was consisted of five dimensions: interest, skill, vocational value, personality, and preferred vocation. And each dimension consists of active area, investigative area, artistic area, enterprising area, conventional area, and social area. The reliabilities of test inventory were 0.83(interest), 0.89(skill), 0.89(vocational value), 0.86(personality), 0.87(vocation). And coefficients of factor loadings were high except 1 item among 168 items. With these results, the Self-assessment tests can be used as guidelines for career exploration. Average, standard deviation, and F values were calculated to search female students characteristics. With information from the Self-assessment, it is recommended for college to offer suitable educational programs which female students want. Also, it is needed to enhance the quality of test through revision of item construction and standardization process.
