The purpose of this study lies in the reflexion of comparative research methods, especially structural and functional methods and in the development of new comparative method in the field of education and training. Having discussed the precedent comparative research methods, I find two alternative methods. The one is the situational comparative method, and the other the complex comparative method. The complex comparative method has solved the problems of the situational comparative method which did not consider the structure of causes and the operational conditions of these causes. I drew the complex comparative method from one recent research case which applies the complex method: a socio-cultural approach to the phenomenon of evading vocational education. The background and the purpose of this study lie in the assumption presented by the directors at the social gathering of the directors of the vocational senior high schools in 2003 in order to solve the problem of the educational crisis, or in other words the assumption that the cause of the phenomenon of evading vocational education stems not from the problems of the vocational education organizations but from socio-cultural problems. As a result of this study, I have presented a table of my own comparison between those three comparative methods.
