The purpose of this study was to suggest directions to improve the articulation program between vocational high schools and junior colleges from the viewpoint of vocational high schools. To this end, Tech Prep, which is the articulation program of the United States, was reviewed to identify the characteristics and analyze the status and problems of Korea`s articulation program. The results of this study were as follows : First, the articulation program of vocational high schools should be focused on advancing students` learning competency that will be required in studying specialized subjects of junior colleges. Second, vocational high schools and junior colleges should establish cooperative relationship on an equal basis and they should also have equal access to the budget support from the government for the articulation program. Third, the articulation program between vocational high schools and junior colleges should be connected to the junior and senior courses of universities, and have to induce participation from the industry. Fourth, the expansion policy of the articulation program should be stopped to prevent a downgrade in the quality of education. Also, a certain portion of courses of specialized subjects received in vocational schools should be given credits regarded as received in junior colleges.
