The purpose of the study was to understand the type of decision-making and career indecision of high school students and to provide basic data for career guidance and counseling. To investigate the objectives of the study, 650 high school students in Gyeongsangnam-do were sampled at random in consideration of the sex(male, female), grade(the first, the second and the third grade in high school), major part(liberal high school, vocational high school), and a survey on the type of decision-making, type of career indecision and on personal matters was conducted. The results of the study suggest that the career counselor should have an overall understanding of the student in question, grasp the type of decision-making and career indecision, thus making a differentiated diagnosis and treatment suited to each and every student client taking into consideration the client`s psychological and non-psychological variables, in making plans for career guidance and counseling. The findings particularly show that the cultivation of the capability to make reasonable decision-making reduces instances of career indecision of high school students while at the same tme raising incidences of career decision-making.
