The purpose of this study was to develop the policy for cooperation between education and industry in order to promote diffusing and sharing of their knowledge and skills. This study was conducted by the review of literature, case study, field visit, survey, interview, and consultation with experts. The major ways of cooperation between education and industry examined in this study were the school-based enterprise(SBE), business incubation center(BIC), and research parks(RP), including the industrial park, science park, and technology park. The authors analyzed the SBE, BIC, RP cases in foreign and domestic countries in terms of their educational benefits, implications and problems. The educational benefits included in applying and extending knowledge acquired in the classroom, solving problems in the context of real life, working in teams, producing tangible economic rewards and positive social outcomes. In addition, there were some difficulties and dilemmas encountered by these cases. Based upon the findings, the authors proposed the feasible model, suggested the new directions, and developed some policy for each way of cooperation between education and industry to promote diffusing and sharing their knowledge and skills.
