The Intellectual Structure of Attention Research in Korea

본 연구의 목적은 국내 주의력 연구의 특징, 연구주제, 연구 하위 분야 및 연구 양상의 변화를 확인함으로써 국내 주의력 연구의 지적구조를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 KCI와 RISS 데이터베이스에서‘주의력’을 키워드로 포함하며 교육학 영역에 속하는 학술 논문을 검색한 후 선정된 논문의 키워드 동시출현빈도를 바탕으로 키워드 네트워크를 구성했다. 이후 Ucinet과 Vosviewer 프로그램을 활용해 키워드 네트워크를 전체 네트워크 구조 수준, 노드 수준, 클러스터 수준에서 분석했다. 또한 주의력 연구의 변화양상을 파악하기 위해 전체 주의력 연구를 최근 10년과 그 이전으로 구분해 시기별 키워드 네트워크의 특징을 비교했다. 분석 결과 국내 교육학 영역 주의력 연구는 ADHD를 중심으로 중심화 되는 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났으며 ‘ADHD’, ‘주의력’, ‘자폐증’이 주의력 연구에서 가장 큰 영향력을 가진 주제로 확인되었다. 또한 국내 주의력 연구의 지적구조는 18가지 하위분야로 구분되어 있으며 분야별 발달수준이 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 주의력 연구는 최근 10년간 새로운 주제를 탐색하고 주제간 연구를 강화하며 성장해 온 것으로 드러났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 추후 국내 주의력 연구의 확장에 주는 시사점을 교육학과 인지심리학 측면에서 논의했다.

This study aims to better understand the intellectual structure of attention literature, its trending themes, and changes. A keyword network analysis method was applied to determine the characteristics of the structure, identify the subfields and main themes, and examine the trajectory of the academic evolution of the field. After a search for peer-reviewed journal articles using the term ‘attention’ as a search word, the keyword network of attention research was constructed based on the co-occurrence frequency of the keywords in the articles. Ucinet, Vosviewer, and Netdraw softwares were used to find out the structural characteristics of the field, to measure centralities of the keywords, to determine the clusters, and to visualize the network. According to the findings of this study, the attention literature in Korea is dominated by the ADHD research. The keyword network analysis yielded 18 subfields and identified ‘attention,’ ‘ADHD,’ and ‘autism’ as the influential themes in the field. The intellectual structures appeared to have developed during the last ten years by exploring novel themes and building up more sound interrelationships among the themes. Several suggestions were discussed for further development of the field in the perspectives of educators and attention researchers.
