영어학습부진아 지도를 통한 예비교사 창의융합교육

Creativity and Convergence Education of Pre-Service English Teachers through Teaching Underachieving English Language Learners

기초학력 미달 학생이 지속적으로 증가하는 상황에서 2015 개정 교육과정은 창의융합형 인재 양성을 목표로 하고 있어, 창의융합교육을 담당할 교원의 역량이 중요하다. 그러므로 본 연구의 목적은 중등영어과 예비교사가 영어학습부진아 지도법을 배우고 멘토링을 실시하면서 창의융합교육 역량이 향상될 수 있는지 검증하는 것이다. 중등영어과 예비교사를 대상으로 「영어학습부진아 이해와 지도」과목을 개설하고 교과내용학과 융합수업, 현장연계 수업 및 영어학습부진아 멘토링 실습을 포함하는 융복합교육과정으로 구성하였다. 사전-사후 설문조사를 수행하고 대응표본 t-검증으로 분석하고 예비교사의 성찰일지를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 창의 역량, 창의교육에 대한 인식은 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 영어과 예비교사의 창의교육 효능감이 높아졌으며, 융복합 수업에 대한 인식도 모두 향상되었다. 예비교사의 성찰일지를 분석한 결과, 융복합 교육과정을 통해 새로운 상황에서 비판적으로 성찰하고 현장실습을 통해 지속적으로 수업을 개선함으로써 창의교육 효능감이 높아진 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 영어학습부진아 교육을 담당할 예비교사를 위한 창의융합교육 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine that the pedagogical competence for creativity and convergence education can be improved while pre-service English teachers teach underachieving English language learners. The course of Understanding and Guiding Underachieving English Learners , designed for pre-service English teachers, was organized into a 15-week curriculum infused with 1) classes of English linguistics, 2) field-based classes, and 3) tutoring experiences. Pre- and post- survey were conducted and analyzed as an independent t-test and, later, the reflective journals written by study participants were analyzed. The results showed that there were no significant difference in their creativity competence and their perception of creativity education, but the self-efficacy of creativity education was increased. In addition, and the awareness of convergence classes was also improved. The analysis of pre-service English teachers reflective journals shows that the self-efficacy of creativity education has increased through convergence curriculum by critically reflecting on unexpected situations and by continuously improving daily tutoring. This study puts significance on presenting an exemplary case of creativity and convergence education for pre-service teachers who will be in charge of teaching underachieving English learners.
